Chris Simms and Mack Brown enter limousine; entire hotel suddenly looks busy
Two limos. Six hours. One question: does “the package” include starting privileges?

DALLAS — Chris Simms and Mack Brown were seen getting into a black limousine outside the Adolphus Friday, triggering an immediate surge in people pretending to check their phones near the valet stand.
The car remained parked for six hours. Across the drive, another limousine containing Major Applewhite also did not move.
“They each wanted the other one to go first,” one driver said. “Then they each wanted to know why I had called it first.”
A very familiar seating chart
Sources say Simms repeatedly asked whether the evening’s package included starting privileges. Brown explained that the seats would be evaluated throughout the ride.
Applewhite reportedly requested that all references to a passenger competition be removed from the reservation.
The dispute intensified when the valet produced two sets of keys but only one preferred parking space. Brown said both cars gave the group a chance to reach dinner.
Nobody knows what is in the envelope
A thick envelope arrived from the West End accounts desk. Asked whether it contained gambling records, hotel invoices or a dinner reservation, a staff member replied, “Depends which page you’re on.”
Mattress Mack appeared briefly with a tape measure, apparently to determine whether either limousine could accommodate a king mattress and a very uncomfortable conversation.
Barry Tramel asked where the vehicles were going. Jenni Carlson asked who was paying. Both received the same answer: “We are still evaluating the situation.”
At press time, Roy Williams walked past the entrance. Simms immediately requested a vehicle with a higher roof.
