Alcaraz rebounds from Shanghai exit, absolutely destroys Life Time’s 10 a.m. pickleball group
“People say I’ve lost my edge. Ask fucking Charlie.”

Carlos Alcaraz has announced that his comeback is officially underway after dismantling Life Time’s 10 a.m. pickleball group in what his camp described as “an important statement against a very experienced field.”
The Spaniard arrived with three coaches, six paddles, a personal physio, and a detailed scouting report on a man named Gary, who was still trying to find somewhere to put his car keys.
“People say I’ve lost my edge,” Alcaraz told reporters. “Ask fucking Gary.”
Gary, who had come straight from a dental appointment, reportedly asked whether they were warming up before Alcaraz smashed an overhead past his left ear and screamed “VAMOS” toward the smoothie bar.
After winning 11–0, Alcaraz collapsed to his knees, pointed toward his coaching team, and remained on the court for several moments as Gary asked whether they were switching partners now.
“I thought we were just doing something active before lunch,” Gary said. “He had somebody filming my serve.”
Alcaraz’s team insisted there would be no complacency following the breakthrough victory. A whiteboard near the stretching area already featured a photograph of Rick, a Thursday regular believed to have played tennis in college.
“We’re not looking past Thursday,” Alcaraz said. “Rick moves well. Apparently he’s had both hips done, so physically he’s coming into this with very fresh equipment.”
The morning’s only controversy came when Deb called one of Alcaraz’s shots out. Carlos immediately demanded Hawk-Eye, a chair umpire, and the name of the tournament director.
Deb explained that she had the sign-up sheet.
“She cannot be my opponent, the line judge, and the woman in charge of the sign-up sheet,” Alcaraz said. His team later issued a statement describing Court 3 as “a deeply troubling concentration of power.”
At press time, Alcaraz was refusing to vacate the court for a children’s birthday party.
“Champions do not surrender Centre Court because Brayden is turning eight,” he said. “Then they should have qualified.”
