Switzer starts chunking TVs out of windows with help from the Boz and Mack Brown

Oklahoma’s win triggers an immediate Dallas ’85 revival. Hotel management says the celebration has exceeded its original definition of “room service.”

DALLAS — Barry Switzer wasted little time celebrating Oklahoma’s victory over Texas, reportedly beginning to chunk televisions out of hotel windows with assistance from Brian “The Boz” Bosworth and an unexpectedly enthusiastic Mack Brown.

“We won,” Switzer announced, approaching a television that moments earlier had been providing perfectly adequate reception. “Now let’s get some air in here.”

Within minutes, the Adolphus had entered what management described as an unscheduled renovation.

The Boz handles the heavy lifting

Bosworth, already serving as the weekend’s self-appointed director of hotel operations, moved quickly to distinguish between televisions suitable for distance and televisions suitable for impact.

“These flat screens have no weight to them,” he complained. “You want the old ones. The ones that take three people and a chiropractor.”

Switzer agreed that modern technology had improved the picture while compromising the fundamentals.

A vintage set was subsequently brought forward to a round of applause.

Mack Brown joins the window committee

Brown’s participation raised questions among Texas supporters, several of whom had assumed he would be observing a more traditional period of reflection.

“I love this rivalry,” Brown explained. “Sometimes you’ve just got to help Barry with a television.”

Witnesses said Brown initially offered to carry the remote, then became increasingly involved after Switzer asked whether he still believed in finishing what he started.

The former Texas coach declined to discuss the score, but described the hotel’s window dimensions as “very workable.”

Dallas ’85 returns ahead of schedule

Hotel staff attempted to intervene by reminding the group that the televisions belonged to the hotel.

“That’s where we found them,” Switzer replied.

An invoice was delivered. The Boz asked whether it included delivery.

Downstairs, Mattress Mack reportedly arranged a substantial mattress pile and insisted that the whole operation technically qualified as a showroom demonstration.

At press time, Switzer was asking which floor had the best selection of televisions, Brown was holding an extension cord, and the Boz had requested that someone locate a refrigerator.
